[Q] Optimising use of AMOLED with regards to battery without rooting

One of the principle advantages of an AMOLED screen is that it can save power when black is displayed. Many websites and app interfaces (e.g. the default messaging apps) and even the settings menus have light backgrounds however. What's the best option (that doesn't increase the load on the processor by e.g. inverting all colours) to optimise use of the screen/battery?



I haven't rooted my phone because the ordeal to do so without tripping Knox is diabolical.
